Home to Chicagoland’s newest beer brand Midnight Pig, with inspiration from America’s Prohibition past, Nevin’s Brewing Company, 12337 South Route 59, Plainfield, suburban brewery and eatery, is successfully giving back to the local community and planet through sustainable brewing processes for its delicious beers. During the last six years of business, Nevin’s Brewing Company has mastered sustainability as a brewery. The restaurant delivers spent grain from the brewing process to local farmers, instead of simply discarding the used grain.
Opened in 2012, Nevin’s Brewing Company quickly established itself as a favorite spot for Chicagoans to visit for dinner and a beer tour outside of the city limits. The brewery’s newest beer brand, Midnight Pig, was recently launched on National Repeal Day to commemorate the speakeasy brewing lifestyle, while giving nod to a secretive industry that is historically significant to the city of Chicago. There are six Midnight Pig beers available including Snitches Get Stitches, Tumultuous, Hook & Hatchet, Apocalyptinator, Shamefaced and Pinched.

“We are proud of the role we play as a business in Plainfield’s booming community. Not only do we work to serve guests, we act as a partner for the community’s farmers, livestock and restaurant goers,” said Dennis Garrison, general manager of Nevin’s Brewing Company. “Beyond being a social gathering place with fantastic beer and food for adults and families alike to enjoy, we play a significant role in propelling the economy of Plainfield forward, for the better of town residents.”
In line with Nevin’s Brewing Company’s commitment to sustainability, farmers use the brewery’s spent grain to feed livestock and to compost fields to enrich crops of vegetables. In return, Nevin’s Brewing Company then purchases the well-fed livestock and nutrient rich-vegetables to make their steaks, burgers, salads, side dishes and other menu items, providing top-quality, environmentally-friendly and community-conscious, local dishes.
