Post 973 (the Tattler Post) is an American Legion Post founded in 1946 to service and support the veterans of the Chicagoland area.
Event Details
Like last year, The Tattler Post 973 will be leading the Rosehill Cemetery Parade on Monday, May 27th.
The parade will be stepping off at ~10:15am near the corner of N Paulina St & W Thorndale Ave, Chicago, IL 60660.
All veterans and veteran groups are welcome to join us in this parade.
We also would like volunteers to ensure that the hundreds of guests, participants, and parade watchers can be accommodated at the cemetery!
We'll have guest speakers in the neighborhood, to include incoming 40th Ward Alderman, Andre Vasquez, 40th Ward Alderman, we'll be performing a formal bell-ringing ceremony for those recently passed veterans, a 21 gun salute, and the formal playing of taps. Please bring a list of recently deceased veterans if you'd like their names to be read off during the ceremony. You can also e-mail this list to Brent.Webb@tattlerpost.org
Please consider signing up to help with the morning parking, the collection of donations and handing out of poppy flowers, and to help with food service as the Tattler Post cooks nearly 800 hot dogs for guests to enjoy a light, complimentary lunch!
