TEACH Launches COVID-19 Support

Systemic inequities that have long confronted immigrants, especially those with limited English language proficiency, have been magnified by the COVID-19 pandemic. While other agencies assisting immigrants proceeded to shutter their doors to all but receiving phone calls, Illinois-based Tutoring English to Advance Change (TEACH), which aims to create systemic change in society by empowering English language learners to build their strengths and effective use of their voice, continued to proactively serve limited English-speaking immigrant communities. Shifting focus to guiding students through this new environment and offering new services to assist immigrant owned business owners secure funding, TEACH has grown in its impact despite COVID-19.
