"I'm running for all those in my life and the lives of those closest to me that have had or currently have cancer. I'm running to remember those we've lost, honor the survivors and raise up all the caregivers I am honored to know.
Event Details
Wes and Emily will both be running a marathon this year.
Emily has become hooked on running and will be representing the DetermiNation Illinois - American Cancer Society team in the BERLIN-MARATHON in September. She's has been volunteering with ACS for 7 years through Relay For Life and hoping to raise $2,500 as she trains for the race.
I'm running so that in the hopefully near future no one will have to hear the words "you have cancer" or "your loved one has cancer"." -Emily Skorin
Wes will be running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on behalf of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago to make part of making a difference in the lives of more than 200,000 patients that the hospital helps every year.
"As someone who came from a family that had endured a tragic loss due to preterm birth, I am proud to be part of the effort in supporting other families and their children so they can reach their full potential. " Wes Wang
The two have decided to team up to host a fundraising beer pong tournament in support of their respective causes.
Houndstooth Saloon will be donating 20% of the sales generated from this event so all you have to do is show up and enjoy a meal or have a drink to support Wes and Emily. There will also be a handful of great raffle prizes.
