Geja’s Café, Chicago’s oldest wine bar located 340 W. Armitage Ave., celebrates the coming of Fall with the debut of its three-month wine festival America the Beautiful, running now through Monday November 30. Throughout these three months, Geja’s guests will have the wonderful opportunity to enjoy wines from sea to shining sea across the United States, with safety for patrons who dine in restaurant at the utmost importance.

“We are all faced with unprecedented times across the country, from the effects of a full-fledged pandemic, to a historic economic downturn, as well as Mother Nature’s impact on our homes with a record number of storms throughout the year,” said, Darla Lawler, Geja’s Café Wine Director. “We are experiencing this from the Atlantic to the Pacific, but with this, we are also reminded by the greatness of America in so many ways. We want to feature some of the great wineries across our wonderful continent with our America the Beautiful Wine Festival as a reminder to enjoy the little things, at least for one meal.”
Below is a sampling of the featured America the Beautiful wines, available by the glass and by the bottle, including a Brut Rose of Gruet, New Mexico; Viognier, Folktale Winery, “Le Mistral” Monterey, California; Sweet Red Blend, Lynfred Winery “Sweetheart Red” Roselle, Illinois; and more.

Known for romantic fondue dining – food one prepares and shares – and an extensive list of fine wines, Geja’s Café features over 20 different types of fondue entrees including cheese fondue and chocolate dessert fondue. An enchanting wine cellar atmosphere, private booths, and subdued lighting contribute to its intimate surroundings. Geja’s Café was voted the Most Romantic Restaurant in America by USA Today 2015 reader poll and has earned the 2020 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. The Chicago institution has been the site of 146,778 first dates and 16,801 engagements and diners have enjoyed over 339 tons of cheese fondue and over 1,083,061 bottles of wine.
