Event Details

Join us for the South Shore premiere of five provocative new shorts by Midwestern filmmakers commissioned by the Gene Siskel Film Center in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Black Harvest Film Festival. Be one of the first audiences to see the work of South Shore resident Rashida KhanBey Miller (Sex is a God Thing, directed by Zarinah Ali). Films by Daniel Williams (Play Day), Derek Dow (Growing Pains) and Gian Smith (Love Tap) will also be screened. Please note, mature themes and subject matter of the film screening may not be appropriate for young audiences. The screening will be followed by a conversation with filmmakers Gian Smith and Leonard Stewart and South Shore’s very own Shahari Moore. The panel will be moderated by Yvonne Welbon, filmmaker and founder of Sisters in Cinema.
