Description
The Mad Hatters: An interactive story time for children and their parents! The Mad Hatters is the Junior League of Chicago’s longest running community project that started in its original format in the 1920’s as a theater performance troupe.
Event Details
The Mad Hatter name came from those days with its first production of Alice in Wonderland. Today, the Mad Hatters are the Junior League of Chicago’s literacy outreach program whose primary community partner is Chicago Public Library.
The Mad Hatters act out books, poems and songs in a 30 minute performance to create excitement and interest for the child to expand their mind through reading all while wearing fun and crazy hats. They use proven methods for achieving this goal through active participation, repetition and animation of the written word.
