Description

Your favorite neighborhood spaceship, BAR BISCAY, is proud to announce a new themed dance series on the last Saturday of every month: Last Saturdays Discotheque.

Event Details

Starting this Saturday, July 27th, the disco ball drops at midnight with your host, DJ Big Dumb Caesar (AKA Archie Powell).

There will be fog!
There will be disco lasers!
There will be sweaty dance shenanigans!

And it’s Saturday night in Chicago, so last call for the bar will be 2:30AM. Never fear, there will be mucho drink especiales for your sustenance.

Since every LSD night is themed, we thought it fitting for the flagship launch of Last Saturdays Discotheque to feature the artists of one of the 70s most amazing recorded-music rocket ships, Casablanca Records.

Neil Bogart and crew were notorious for putting the excess in success, and the funk in dysfunctional. They gave everything they had to attempt to answer the question every record label of the 1970s was asking themselves; to wit: “Can we run a record label using only mountains of cocaine and easy sexual relations?”

The answer, of course, was no. No, you cannot.

But for a few years anyway, they had an amazing run of hits with artists such as Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, The Village People, Kiss, Parliament Funkadelic, Cher, Hugh Masekela, Barry White, Bootsy Collins, Captain & Tennille and many, many more.

SO GET YER DANCING SHOES POLISHED AND COME ON DOWN #GUARANTEEDHOOT
