Permanently Closed.. This low-profile and intimate Ukrainian Village restaurant specializes in Italian small plates, meant to be shared across the communal tables. Trattoria Ultimo offers a definite "dove si mangia bene” (where you eat good) atmosphere with homemade pasta and sausage plus lots of daily specials from risotto of the day to a sampling of the season's best cheese. Trattoria has a cozier neighborhood feel with dishes like polpetta with onion jam, rotating risotto specials, and basil-lemon sorbet. The food rotates according to seasons, but expect 2.5 hour braised short ribs and tons of fresh pasta. Bring a bottle of white for the earthy linguine with a ragu of cod or red to accompany the expertly grilled lamb chops.
