November NAMI Smarts for Advocacy
Event Details
The Illinois legislative session is right around the corner, and we've got work to do expand access to mental health care services and fight stigma! Join us for NAMI Smarts for Advocacy, a 2-hour training to help you draw from your own experience to create change in the mental health system in partnership with your legislators. We need YOU to make sure that our state and city do the most to provide support for those impacted by mental health conditions. Join us on November 14th for this empowering training!
Our November training will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14 from 3-5 pm. This training is offered free of charge and will be led by NAMI Chicago's Associate Director, Jen McGowan-Tomke.
The training will be hosted at The Dina and Eli Field EZRA Multi-Service Center. The Center is dedicated to Tikkun Olam, or "repairing the world," and helping our community members live with dignity through advocacy and compassionate, collaborative care for those experiencing a crisis or isolation. Our services strive to prevent homelessness, alleviate hunger, reduce isolation, and create community.
