The University East-West University was founded in 1980 with the mission of providing quality, affordable, multi-cultural, and forward-looking higher education to Chicago and the world. The institution has grown and prospered over the years, from a noble idea to a significant institution of higher learning accommodating nearly 1200 students. East-West University graduates students with the second lowest average student loan debt in America, according to the 2014 Project on Student Debt report. EWU has the lowest tuition of any Illinois private university, offering small class sizes and a dedication to diversity. EWU is located in Chicago's South Loop neighborhood on historic Michigan Avenue, by both METRA and the CTA Red Line.
