Located in the Pilsen community, Harrison Park totals 17.39 acres and features a field house with a gymnastics center, an indoor swimming pool, a gymnasium, a computer lab, meetings rooms and a reception rotunda featuring a bust of Emiliano Zapata, one of the most prominent figures of the Mexican Revolution. Outside, the park offers tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, athletic fields for football or soccer, a playground and community garden. Many of these spaces are available for rental. Harrison Park is also located adjacent to the National Museum for Mexican Art. Park-goers come to Harrison Park to play soccer, baseball and tennis, or go swimming in the indoor pool. On the cultural side, Harrison Park offers many activities in conjunction the neighboring museum. After school programs are offered throughout the school year, and in the summer youth attend the Park District's popular six-week day camp. Specialty camps are offered in the summer as well, including therapeutic recreation camps for children and adults. In addition to programs, Harrison Park hosts fun special events throughout the year for the whole family, such as Movies in the Park and other holiday activities.
