First Ascent Climbing & Fitness, a project created and supported by Chicago's climbers, started with one simple mission: to build world-class indoor climbing facilities that serve and grow Chicago's vibrant, passionate climbing community. The Uptown gym features over 8,000 square feet of world-class Walltopia-designed bouldering terrain. Problems and features are friendly for beginners and challenging for experts, and we offer classes and training programs for all ages and ability levels. Additional features include a full-body fitness room with cardio machines, free weights, and functional training equipment, and climbing-specific training equipment, a yoga studio, locker rooms, pro shop, and community spaces.
