Chicago Barbell Compound was originally opened in 2012. The former owner had dreams to build one of the most hardcore gyms in Chicago and that's what he did. Eventually, he would change the name to "The Barbell Compound," which suited the culture within the gym to fullest. So many big name power lifters and bodybuilders worked out here and would visit when they were in Chicago just to get the opportunity to experience the madness that is now called Chicago Barbell Compound. The original owner closed the business last year and the new owners opened it in October. The new owners have brought back the original "Chicago Barbell Compound," to bring back a tradition and pay homage to the original members that were part of this gym in the earlier years. This gym will be known once again across America as the must visit gym in the Chicago-land area!
