The Chicago Thanksgiving Parade in Chicago, IL, is an annual celebration organized by the Chicago Festival Association. It was first held in 1934 as a means to boost the economy during the Great Depression.

The immense success of the parade helped it survive World War II and it is today a Chicago institution.
Every Thanksgiving Day, the parade starts at 8a at State Street, moves through Ida B. Wells Drive and ends at Randolph Drive at 11a.
This colorful, open-to-all event features numerous attractions including equestrian performances, ballet dances, fire acts, helium balloons and floats.
