Event Details

TopAct Events presents a special suspense-filled evening of secrets, surprise, and murder! Come join us at Room 13, Old Chicago Inn’s very own Prohibition era-inspired speakeasy, for a classic 1920s interactive murder mystery party.

It’s the 1920s and the Mob is at it once again, with the shocking murder of the top crime boss right here in Chicago. You are a guest of the party and must solve the mystery before more chaos breaks out! This event is improv-inspired, where you will get to play the role of a suspect, detective, or witness while mixing and mingling with others.

Each ticket includes...

1920's themed cocktail party hors d'oeuvres
Raffle prize giveaways for mystery winners
All murder mystery materials including a character sketch
*Cocktails will be available for purchase

*Doors open at 6:30 pm

Prior to the event, we will send guests their assigned character sketch along with an invitation, instructions, summary, and secret password for entry to the speakeasy. We encourage having a blast getting into character and dressing in 1920's themed attire.

The resident bartender will be serving up classic cocktails, using recipes and ingredients that hearken from the Jazz Age and earlier. While pouring libations made with the finest ingredients, the bartender also shares knowledge of the history of the cocktail, often with cultural anecdotes that bring the Prohibition era to life.

Venue Guidelines and Limitations:

-Proper dress is required. Guests are asked to follow a cocktail and business casual model. Gentlemen are asked to wear some sort of collar (jacket, button-up, etc.); nice denim is acceptable (no wear and tear); no athletic wear. Guests may dress in the event theme.

-Outside food and drink is NOT permitted.

-Unfortunately the historic building does not have an elevator and is not wheelchair accessible. Guests with disabilities or dietary restrictions or allergies should contact us so we can try our best to make accommodations.

-This event is “21 and over only”, and we ask that all guests be able to present a valid ID for entry, respect the dress code, and be responsible for any damages to the property.
