Touted by the Chicago Tribune as an “immensely likable, intelligent and very intimate show,” Dr. Ricardo Rosenkranz is back by popular demand with Physician Magician at the Rhapsody Theater, 1328 W. Morse Avenue in Chicago for a limited engagement. In this production, the award-winning Rosenkranz will present astounding numbers that captivate audiences in an intimate setting. Physician Magician highlights what the Chicago Tribune calls Rosenkranz’s “An immensely likable, intelligent and very intimate show. Makes your spirit yearn to heal itself. Well worth seeing! A sophisticated affair. Very cool” with signature pieces and performances brought to the stage to showcase the magic that cannot be seen anywhere else.
“There is something beautiful and wonderful about the unknown, and I think in that sense, magic and medicine share a DNA,” said Rosenkranz. “I am committed to creating a unique experience that energizes and uplifts every audience.”
After premiering hit magic shows in 2016 and 2018 Dr. Ricardo Rosenkranz returns to Chicago Stages this February with his new show called Physician Magician. The new show includes several never-before-seen illusions and brings back many signature classics and audience favorites including Balsamo, last seen on the CW’s Fool Us.
Teller of Penn & Teller Fame said about Dr. Rosenkranz’s Show, “Physician Magician is like spending a cozy evening with your jovial doctor – who just happens to command some of the rarest and most beautiful illusions in the world. The show is an elegant soiree, a fireside chat entwined with brain-busting mysteries, conjured by a physician/magician, who sees the world through the double lens of medicine and magic.”
Since the close of his sold-out run in 2016 and 2018, Dr. Ricardo Rosenkranz has performed for Penn & Teller’s fool us in Las Vegas and recently completed a very successful run at the world-famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. In addition, Dr. Rosenkranz headlined at the Prestigious Magic Circle in London and was honored by The Magic Circle to Associate of the Inner Magic Circle with a Silver Star. Rosenkranz is an award-winning and respected faculty member at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He has been fascinated by magic since a young age and has long been incorporating his illusions into his teaching as a way to help engage students and encourage participation. After winning several teaching awards and traveling the country to deliver seminars, Rosenkranz decided to bring his act to the stage in Chicago.
Physician Magician previews February 9 and runs through April 2. The show is intended for ages 12 and older. Tables in the VIP and Premium floor space seat 2 guests ($60-$75 per person). Regular tickets range between $20-$50 dependent on seating selection. Performances will be held Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 PM and Saturdays at 2:00 PM and 7:20 PM, with select Sunday 2:00 PM showings.
