Cara Institute: Let's Get to Work
November 12-14
Since 1991, Cara has helped place individuals into more than 10,000 jobs at 70% one-year, same-firm retention rates for permanent placements. Join us for an immersive three-day deep dive into Cara’s service delivery model, focusing not just on what Cara does, but how and why Cara does it.
This institute is for organizations interested in developing or enhancing effective workforce development practices to help individuals experiencing poverty prepare for, obtain, and retain jobs. Attendees will leave with actionable steps they can bring back to their organizations, as well as the opportunity to share their own best practices and learnings with other practitioners as part of the Cara Network.
Attendees will have the opportunity to experience:
Motivations: Cara’s signature morning ritual that brings everyone one step out of their comfort zone.
Recruitment: Cara’s intake process – part recruiting and part admissions – that ensures Cara brings motivated individuals to its door at the right point in their journey.
Training: How Cara shifts perspectives through its socio-emotional and professional skills training using its Transformations and job training curricula.
Coaching: How Cara staff walk alongside participants to coach them throughout their Cara journey.
Placement: How Cara assesses behaviors, builds confidence, and matches participants to jobs with nearly 70 employment partners to optimize fit and growth.
Retention: How Cara creates individualized relationships to coach participants through their first full year on the job to ensure real and lasting success.
Cara Institute will take place November 12 – 14 at Cara Chicago, at a cost of $3,000, which includes admission for up to four attendees from each organization. Lodging and transportation are not included.
