Event Details

Halloween is almost here!

You have the, almost, perfect Halloween costume. If only you could add some LEDs, make small moving props (like a hand that scuttles across the floor) or add cool effects (like a cauldron blowing fog out). Well, now you can!

Join our instructor Frank and learn how to add the perfect effect to your costume. Frank has a background in theater, prop making, lighting, sound, and kinetic art.

Included in your ticket you will get a 15min video consultation with Frank before the class to discuss the concept and pre-order any supplies you will need to complete the project.

Remember that we will only have 4 hours for the class, so working on your project beforehand may help you get to a place to focus on the questions you will have with your instructor.

We will have a random assortment of scrap material from our warehouse, The Waste Shed, and some additional material from Frank’s studio. We will have small demos of LEDs, and Motors if you just want to learn a skill.

Frank will show you how to connect LEDs to battery packs, solder connections, demo a small motion design, how to operate a motor and talk about lights. Bring any of your own crafting supplies, and tools, though we will have access to the whole shop.
